"Ganapati Om" by Omkara was recorded with Omkara and the Shivaratri Cafe band in a small studio near Rishikesh in India, in 2014. It's also available on the Shivaratri Cafe album, 'This Night We Will Not sleep'. The song is often sung in concerts and retreats by the Monte Sahaja bhajans group, 'Jai Sahaja!'

In the Hindu tradition, Ganesha or Ganapati, often depicted in the form of an elephant, represents that aspect of the divine which removes obstacles – inner and outer – and signifies new and auspicious beginnings.

The Sanskrit names that are sung in bhajans and kirtans are reflections of the different benevolent aspects within ourselves, and by repeating these names, those aspects are called forth.

Note: All proceeds from this song will be donated to Associação Mooji Sangha, a Portuguese non-profit organization which helps to bring Mooji’s pointings, presence and love to people all around the world.
